Seeing your company's name in one AI tool does not establish lasting visibility. A useful review records the same questions, languages and checking conditions. This guide proposes a practical way to compare observations. It is not an official measurement standard shared by every AI platform.
1. Choose questions customers ask
Start with sales conversations and meetings. Examples include, 'What should I clarify before commissioning a business website in Baku?' and 'Should I choose an app or a website for bookings?' Avoid forcing your brand name into every prompt. Keep branded and unbranded questions separate. Begin with a stable set you are able to maintain, such as 20 questions.
2. Record the conditions of each observation
Log the platform, date, language and exact question. Distinguish a check in a new conversation from an answer continuing an earlier discussion. Save the visible source links. A screenshot helps explain a report, but does not establish every user saw the same answer.
3. Separate mentions from citations
Record three observations: whether the business is named, whether a working source link points to your website, and whether the business details are accurate. For example, a citation in 4 of 20 checked questions gives an observed citation share of 4 / 20 × 100 = 20% for this set. This is a calculation example, not a Reel result or market benchmark.
4. Measure visits separately from inquiries
Appearing in an answer, receiving a visit and receiving an inquiry are different events. If analytics is available, review identifiable referral sources. Do not automatically attribute an unknown-source inquiry to AI. Google's AI search performance is included in Search Console's overall Web report, so its entire increase should not be attributed to GEO work.
5. Update content based on observations
If an answer contains the wrong phone number, service or condition, first review the facts on your website. When a relevant question remains unanswered, explain it on a service page or in an article. Record the change date. Repeat the same question set, then present any difference as an observation rather than proof of a single cause.
What belongs in a simple GEO report?
Choose a report your team is able to maintain. State the limits of the checks alongside the figures.
- Exact question, language, platform and date.
- Brand mention, source URL and incorrect facts.
- Observed visits and identifiable inquiries.
- Content changes and the next review date.
